Current release boundaries
Know the limits before you start
Release media length
The current web release supports audio and video files up to 20 minutes. Oscar stops before analysis when a known file duration is longer.
Art Clip full track
Full Track Art Clips currently support audio up to 5 minutes. Section-based Art Clips can use a shorter selected moment.
Browser video export
Some video and visualizer exports record the approved timeline in real time. Keep the tab open until the export finishes.
Device performance
Oscar processes substantial media work in the browser. First-time engines may warm up, and speed depends on the file, browser, GPU, and available memory.
Local processing and cloud features
Your source media stays local for ordinary editing and export
In the browser
Waveform editing, audio and video processing, previews, visual synthesis, and ordinary exports run on your device where supported. Account, entitlement, usage, and decision services can use cloud APIs without uploading the complete source media.
Transcript-based features
When you request transcription, captions, or a transcript-based AI edit, Oscar compresses the audio and temporarily uploads it for cloud transcription. Oscar deletes its temporary object-storage copy after processing, and the returned transcript can be cached in your browser.
Oscar Clear
When you request a Clear edit, Oscar sends the writing and the candidate edits required to select the result to cloud AI providers. Your original and the selected clear version can be kept locally in your browser for recovery.
Local recovery
Recent media projects and writing can remain in this browser for up to 45 days after you last open them. Transcript caches can remain for up to 30 days after last use. Removing a Recent item removes its local project data and related caches, while downloaded exports are not retained by Oscar.
